The following is a list of the mayors of Sioux City, IA.
Sioux City mayoral elections take place on the same day as the U.S. presidential election. Inauguration typically takes place on the following January 1st.
In total, there have been 64 mayors of Sioux City. However, only 4 of whom were elected by the populus; The first being Craig Berenstein in 1996.

John K. Cook (1861-1862)† founded Sioux City in 1854.[1]

Jonas M. Cleland (1886-1886)†
E.C. Palmer (1890-1890)† He was one of the founders of Palmer Candy Company, the oldest candy store in Sioux City.[2]

Wallace M. Short (1918-1923)† At the time, he was the longest serving mayor in Sioux City history.[3]
W.D. Hayes (1930-1938)† Only 7 years after Short, Hayes beat his longevity by 3 years.

Robert "Bob" Scott (1990-1997) Only Sioux City Mayor to serve two non consecutive terms. (Four Year Terms Are Introduced)
Craig Berenstein (1997-2004) First public elected mayor. Before this, the council voted when there was a vacancy.

Bob Scott (2012-2020) Sitting Mayor, and the longest Sioux City mayor (15 years).[7] He says he does not plan on running again in 2020.
