Somizi Mhlongo was born on the 23 December 1972 at Soweto Gauteng South Africa [2]. He grew without a nick name and at a later atage given the name Somgaga due to his personality. Somizi is a popular South African choreographer and radio personality. He is is the son of the late actor/comedian Ndaba Mhlongo and the veretan actress Mary Twala.He is also a father to Bahumi Madisakwane.

Early years

As a young child he was always travelling with his parents as they toured the country since well they where performing various Productions.He went to schoold at the age of 7, as he was away from his parents he did not like it and 6 month later he decided to go join them as they where performing all around. His parents didnt mind but decide to coninue travelling with him. That is when the big things in his life began.At 9 years old he was a presenter on one of Childrens TV show and joined Sarafina at the age of 14.He became sick at an early and also had his first kiss with a boy, however later had daughter with his ex also an actress Palesa Madisekwane. He first discovered he was bisexual before realising that actually he is a Gay and that happened after he had his daughter.

Career

His entertainment bussiness career started when he was 13 years old. It all began when joining Sarafina as it is one of the biggest project he choreographed. He was later again featured in other aclaimed movies asuch as The Beloved Country and Cry. Apart from being a choreographer he is also hosting for live events and music vidoe production. Somizi has appeared in various television shows, such as Living the Dream with Somizi, I am and Idols SA. On his appearance on the show I am. He also got a chance to perform with the following Artists and stage acts Unathi, Micasa, Miriam Makeba, Boom Shaka this also includes international airists like Brandy, Will Smith, Kerry Hilson and Eve.Somizi expressed how he faced challenges because of his sexuality.He is also an ambassodor for Department of Water and Sanitation and DSTV compact. He is also a fitness instructor, a book writter as well as a Radio show host.

Early 2010's

Just when judge Dave Thomson left the Idols show after the season 5 (2009) Mr 'WOOH SHEM" at a later stage joined the team where he was found working with the likes of Unathi, Randal as well as Gareth.Up until today Somizi Mhlongo is still declared one of the best S.A idols judges. He publised his book tittled "Dominoes, Unbreakable Spirit"[3] which he wanted to call it 'OOh Shem' but thought it was too playful.The book is all about covering the 45-year life of Somizi (Somgaga).He then at the later stage got involded in a relationship with Tebogo Mohale who in terms of education studied at the Vall Christian School between 2009-2013[4]. And to his surprise he got himself being engage to the very same Mr handsome guy Mohale. They are still happily in their relationship even though every relationship has its ups and downs they believe theres no obstatcle they wont be able to overcome. Somizi care less about what people say to the age difference between him and his fiance.

After his book reached 10 000 sales he decided to give back R20 from each book to two-four matriculants in paying their first year university fees.

Controversy

Somizi has claimed that he does exaggerate his sexuality to become famous, after it had been suggested that his behaviour was not merely a publicity stunt Anofarira nyoro nekuti hapana anoramba nyoro.[6]
