Old codes

At least in road cycling, this is the old coding system. Now, there is PT (ProTour), HC, 1 and 2, of which HC, 1 and 2 are preceded by 1 or 2. Mk3severo 22:30, 26 February 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Err... that's what the article says! OK, PT is a recent addition, but the other codes are still valid. For example, you'll see National Championships listed in the UCI calendar as CN. Agreed it needs clarifying about which codes get the prefixes, and which don't (e.g. CN, CC, CM don't get prefixed in any disciplines)

ProTour has been around two years now: the GT status hasn't been around just as long. Category x.3, x.4 and x.5 are also not around longer (all this at least for men). The easy way to sort out the old from the new (and the old is certainly worth mentioning), is to reference it - but I can't find anything on the UCI website to help? Mk3severo 00:34, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
No, the UCI don't seem to reference them anywhere in the regulations - just introduce them in rules without defining them anywhere (at least that I can spot) Mauls 20:09, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
That sounds just about typical :/ Mk3severo 20:14, 3 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Disambig

I searched for "2.1" and was redirected here, when I was looking for information on stereos. Some on who know how should make a disambiguation page. 66.32.150.245 00:43, 18 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Agree. I came here from Hors Categorie, which is a closer relation. I was looking for something about HC mountain climbs in the Tour de France, which I would think is at least as widely searched for as the classification of races. --Aioth 02:22, 16 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Codes missing

I know for a fact that there were 1.5 and 2.5 categories.

Not sure whether UCI changed classification or not but it would be good to list both (because racearticles contai that information), old and new, and see which categories merged, were replaced... 213.149.61.164 (talk) 21:44, 24 November 2018 (UTC)[reply]
