Pixelh8 pronounced "pixel hate" started life as a side projects to Matthew Carl Applegate's Hidden Fortress. Pixelh8 is one of many of Matthew's "characters", this one with a specific love/hate towards video games, toys, and educational toys, combining elements of [Circuit Bending], [reverse engineering] & [Chip Tunes].

Pixelh8 combines the sounds of video games and toys often toys that have been [reverse enginereed] to avoid either copyright infringement or plagerism to form original compositions. Pixelh8 has also uses purpose made video game software like [LSDJ], [Nanoloop] & [Carrilion Editor].

Pixelh8 like many modern artists started off on [Myspace], being widely discovered after entering a competition to open for Imogen Heap on her UK tour.

Pixelh8 continues to release music on the record label Hidden Youth Records and is currenty working a series of hardware items for various vintage consoles.
