Fantasy Games (ZX81)

'Fantasy Games' is a compilation of two computer gamed 'Sorceror's Island' and 'Perilous Swamp' for the ZX81. It was released by Psion Computers in 1981.[1] [2] It featured as part of the official initial range of titles available for the ZX81.[3] [4]

Sorceror's Island

Sorceror's Island is a fantasy RPG set on an island, controlled by an evil Sorceror. The goal of the game is to defeat the Sorceror after overcoming many random fantasy encounters. Gameplay alternates between a map of the island and text-descriptions of encounters. The game ends either when the player is killed or the Sorceror is defeated.

Perilous Swamp

The game features a simple rogue-like role-playing experience, where the player has to navigate a randomly-generated swamp in order to rescue a captured princess. Once saved, the player and the princess must then escape the swamp to safety. The player could Fight, Bribe or Run from any encounter, expending health in the process. Gameplay alternates between a small map and text-based encounters and decisions. When their health was zero, the game was over - unless the princess is saved, then the player wins.
