About me

I am a librarian invested in women's and African-American history. I've co-hosted three edit-a-thons for Smith College's Art + Feminism events (March 2014, March 2015, and March 2016), and co-hosted two edit-a-thons (February 2017 and February 2019) at Indiana University in Bloomington for Black History Month Black History Month edit-a-thon at Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.

Conflict of Interest Statement

I, User:Meg Meiman, am a librarian committed to the open access of information. I will not make any edits that would not be beneficial to the goals of Wikipedia. My main edits to Wikipedia consist of the following activities:

  • Creating or enhancing existing biographies of notable American women, particularly women of color, based on both published and original primary source materials.
  • Creating or enhancing existing biographies of other notable scholars, researchers, and cultural figures, especially those of under-represented populations.
  • Creating or enhancing existing entries for women’s activist and cultural organizations based on both published and original primary source materials.
  • Adding authoritative references, citations, and images to improve the quality of existing articles of all types.


I will modify my editing behavior based on problems cited by other editors or if my editing conflicts with other Wikipedia guidelines. I ask that other editors do not hesitate to contact me, via my user talk page, if I appear to be going against this declaration.
