Jarpnoonk (or Jar-phook) is a mesmeric or hypnotic state produced by Hindu conjurers.

According to the book Mesmerism and Hypnotism, "The Jar-phook of Upper India [is] a system of treatment practiced by the Indian conjurors, or Jadoo-walla, by stroking and breathing on the limbs or body."[1],[2]
