Template:Linkless Randall O'Toole is a Portland, Oregon based senior economist with the Thoreau Institute. His views can best be described as libertarian as he believes strongly in market oriented solutions to problems. He is the author of "The Vanishing Automobile and Other Urban Myths". His detractors claim that he cherry picks information and that his methodology of debunking rail transit has itself been debunked by Todd Litman at VTPI[1][citation needed]. Randall O'Toole pursued graduate work in economics at the University of Oregon from 1977 to 1980, but never completed the program or received a degree as an economist.[citation needed]
