Edward "Ed" Nygma , also known as The Riddler is a fictional character who appears as one of the primary antagonists on the Fox TV series Gotham. He is portrayed by Cory Michael Smith and is based on the character of the same name, created by Dick Sprang and Bill Finger.

Fictional character biography

Edward Nygma is a former forensic scientist working for the Gotham City Police Department with a penchant for speaking in riddles.

In August 2017, while talking about his character Cory said that “After three years, it’s kind of amazing how much he’s changed”. He further added "It’s been such a deep pleasure for me—for my first long- form TV project—to play someone who’s had such an incredible evolution.”
