Mathematics is not a static subject. One of the places that the Wikipedia could really excell is by placing the concepts of mathematics in historical context, while at the same time being able to lead the reader to the current boundaries of the subject.

I have no idea of the proper aesthetics of entries in the Wikipedia. However, I have been actively doing mathematics for about 28 years. I would very much like to share my experience by adding the historical and current contexts to definitions. I hope that those more involved in the Wikipedia will be willing to graciously correct my stylistic errors and try even out the focus of my contributions.
