Hartville, Ohio
Hartville is a village in Stark County, Ohio, United States. The population was 2,174 at the 2000 census.
Hartville lies halfway between Akron and Canton, at the intersection of two main roads, Ohio Route 43 and Ohio Route 619. While Hartville is geographically quite small, Hartville has seen a major increase in commercial development in recent years, and is the largest commercial center in the northeast part of Stark County.
Hartville is the home of the Kegg Pipe Organ Builders company.
Andrew Wellington Cordier, a United Nations official and President of Columbia University, went to high school in Hartville.

According to the United States Census Bureau, the village has a total area of 4.7 km² (1.8 mi²), all land.
Demographics
As of the censusTemplate:GR of 2000, there were 2,174 people, 863 households, and 579 families residing in the village. The population density was 458.7/km² (1,186.2/mi²). There were 902 housing units at an average density of 190.3/km² (492.2/mi²). The racial makeup of the village was 98.39% White, 0.28% African American, 0.18% Native American, 0.18% Asian, 0.05% Pacific Islander, 0.28% from other races, and 0.64% from two or more races. Hispanic or Latino of any race were 0.83% of the population.
There were 863 households out of which 33.6% had children under the age of 18 living with them, 52.1% were married couples living together, 12.3% had a female householder with no husband present, and 32.9% were non-families. 28.0% of all households were made up of individuals and 8.3% had someone living alone who was 65 years of age or older. The average household size was 2.49 and the average family size was 3.09.
In the village the population was spread out with 26.9% under the age of 18, 10.1% from 18 to 24, 32.4% from 25 to 44, 19.6% from 45 to 64, and 11.0% who were 65 years of age or older. The median age was 34 years. For every 100 females there were 95.9 males. For every 100 females age 18 and over, there were 91.3 males.
The median income for a household in the village was $41,012, and the median income for a family was $47,411. Males had a median income of $34,821 versus $22,679 for females. The per capita income for the village was $19,362. Transportation & Shopping
Originally a small country village, growth in Hartville has come largely from families living in the city, drawn by the attraction of a simpler life. While Hartville still has some farmland, the vast majority of it has been utilized to house these more-than-eager families. Even before its boom years, Hartville had a number of regional attractions, such as The Hartville Kitchen, famed for its home style of cooking as well as a Flea Market every weekend, and the Hartville Chocolate Factory. Hartville’s youth are served by the Lake Local School District. Today, Hartville's main commercial district encompasses the entire stretch of Hartville's portion of OH-619.
