Imara Jones is an American political journalist and activist.[2][3] She created and hosts a weekly current events program on Free Speech TV, The Last Sip, which discusses the needs of women and LGBTQ people of color, with an emphasis on millennials.[2][4][5] An African-American trans woman,[1] Jones takes an intersectional approach to her work.[2][4]
Education & Early Life
Jones holds an undergraduate degree in political science from Columbia University, and a master's degree in economics from the London School of Economics.[2][6] Prior to her career in journalism, Jones worked on international trade policy at the Clinton White House, and as an executive at Viacom.[2][6][7]
Awards & Titles
Jones has won Emmy and Peabody awards for her work.[2] She was named a 2018 Champion of Pride by The Advocate magazine.[3]
