William Albert Norris (born 1927) is a former United States federal judge.
Norris was born in Turtle Creek, Pennsylvania. He received a B.A. from Princeton University in 1951. He received a J.D. from Stanford Law School in 1954. He was in the United States Navy from 1945 to 1947. He was in private practice of law in Washington, DC from 1954 to 1955. He was a law clerk, Justice William O. Douglas, Supreme Court of the United States from 1955 to 1956. He was in private practice of law in Los Angeles, California from 1956 to 1980.
Norris was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit. Norris was nominated by President Jimmy Carter on February 27, 1980, to a seat vacated by Walter Raleigh Ely, Jr.. He was confirmed by the United States Senate on June 18, 1980, and received commission the same day. Assumed senior status on July 7, 1994. Norris's service was terminated on October 24, 1997, due to retirement.
