Fallibroome High School (often nicknamed by locals as "Falli") is a comprehensive school for girls and boys aged 11 - 18 in Macclesfield, Cheshire, England. Fallibroome was opened as a purpose-built comprehensive school on the present site in September 1979. The building is therefore modern and attractive and provides a very pleasant atmosphere in which to work. The most recent OFSTED inspection report in 2001 paid tribute to very high standards of teaching and learning. Fallibroome was ranked in the top 5% in the country for its teaching standards. The school has recently undergone another OFSTED inspection and is awaiting the new results.
Although only officially opened at its present location in 1980, during 1979 it operated from the old premises of the Wycliffe Avenue Secondary Modern School in Wilmslow as a 'stop gap' for a grammar school intake of 72 boys who were unable to be taken by King's School, Macclesfield. This first year intake of 'unwanted' King's School Boys was a major motivating factor behind the school's sporting ambitions during its early years.
Sixth Form
Fallibroome has possibly the most successful Sixth Form College in the area, and thus competition for places is high, with even many members of the expensive private King's School applying to Fallibroome Sixth Form. One of the main criticisms of the sixth form is the rule that all pupils must wear a suit, shirt and tie which many students struggle to afford. The inequality of boys having to wear suits and girls not has recently been rectified as suits have been made compulsory for all. Other schools in the area such as Henbury High School allow their pupils to wear smart/casual clothes.
CEP
Although extremely unpopular with pupils, the Sixth Form's "Curriculum Enrichment Programme" is a unique benefit of attending Fallibroome. Every Wednesday, 2 hours are allocated for the pupils to do extra curricular activities, either organised by the school or out of school. This gives students the opportunity to boost their UCAS personal statement with extra qualifications such as Duke of Edinburgh Award and ECDL as well as providing the opportunity to take part in recreational activities such as PE and Art.
School Logo
The logo contains the word prospice which is also used as the letters for the forms. A new logo has recently been introduced which is a gold F resembling an upside down "£" sign made from ribbon. Ironically, this new logo was revealed within a week of the school being given a cash grant after being awarded the "Performing Arts College" title. The logo may or may not change due to the new Community system.
Design and Technology Department
Fallibroome's Design and Technology Department has a growing reputation both nationally and Internationally. The department has had success in many national competitions over the last few years including Greenpower, Young Master Chef and the Audi Innovation award. The Department shares its good practice by holding Professional Development activities for local schools and shares its resources via its own website. The website is accessed daily by staff and pupils from as far away as Singapore and New Zealand.
Information Technology Department
The school, being a Specialist Performing Arts College, have limited funds for other subject areas. Consequently, the Information Technology department is suffering due to outdated computers and a poor network infastucture.
In an attempt to combat the problem, the IT department is installing Windows XP, which although looks better than Windows 98, is in actuality 24% slower. Students regularly complain about lack of time to save work in between classes, and the school has recently floated the idea of upgrading the computers, although this idea was scrapped and the school decided to purchase the "cashless catering system".

Music and performing Arts Department
Fallibroome boasts one of the best performing arts departments in Britain and its recently awarded Performing Arts College title is evidence of this. Fallibroome has its own Performance Hall building which seats over 400 and contains a lot of expensive and modern lighting equipment. The extra rooms of the performance hall also house music technology facilities and a variety of instruments. The hall is regularly used by the Drama and Theatre studies classes and also houses concerts and assemblies. The hall is also hired out to professional theatre companies and orchestras who put on performances there.
Community
One of the main themes in Fallibroome High School is 'Community.' Mr Rubery has focused on attempting to build a community atmosphere, where all members of the community feel part of an extended community. In June 2006, Mr Rubery unveiled plans to create 'Communities,' to which all pupils would be assigned. The pupils would then participate in events with other members of their 'Community,' often competing against members of other 'Communities.' The school would be divided into four communities; Red, Green, Blue, and Yellow. On the 2nd November 2006 pupils were introduced to their new community.
Opposition to the community system
A number of students have become angered by the separate community systems and the way they are dividing the school into different castes, and a new group of individuals are rising to power. Known as the 'Purple Nova Movement', they plan to rid the school of all of the ideas they oppose put forth by the school administrators.
The mysterious leader behind the Purple Nova Movement, (nicknamed Olaf due to his aim to take over the world from his armchair), is planning to build a large purple fortress in the school carpark to cleanse the school of chavism and use it as a foothold in his conquest to take over the world. The movement operates on a 'join us or be annihilated' basis.
