Ajmal Sultanpuri

Ajmal Sultanpuri is an Indian poet in Urdu language. He is a native village of Harakhpur in Sultanpur District, Uttar Pradesh.[1]

He was awarded the Lifetime Achievement Award by Uttar Pradesh Urdu Academy in March 2016, for his contribution to Urdu poetry.[2][3] Ajmal Sultanpuri (Mohammad Ajmal Beig) has 1 son Advocate Mohammad Ashraf Beig (Anwar Sultanpuri) and 2 daughters Parveen Ajmal and Shaheen Ajmal. His father name is Mohammad Abid Beig. Currently he is living in Mohalla Khairabad district Sultanpur Uttar Pradesh with his entire family including his son Advocate Ashraf Beig (Anwar Sultanpuri) S/O Ajmal Sultanap Puri, his son’s wife Taqdeerun Nisha, grandson Tariq Beig S/O Ashraf Beig, Khalid Beig S/O Ashraf Beig and granddaughters. His first daughter Parveen Ajmal married to Ajmal Sultanpuri's village Harakhpur Post Kurwar Dist Sultabnpur near to his home with Mohammad Shabbir Khan and his second daughter Shaheen Ajmal married to Ajmal Sultanpuri's wife Ummatul Nisha's village Ajhui Post Hasanpur Dist Sultanpur with Kifayat Ulla Khan.

About 50-55 years ago, Ajmal Sultanpuri’s house was in village Harakhpur post Kudwar district Sultanpur where he and his younger brother Kuddus Beig S/O Abid Beig lived there, there was a fatal attack on Ajmal Sultanpuri and the attackers thought him dead but he escaped And since then he went to Mohalla Khairabad Sultanpur with his wife Ummatul Nisha, but his younger brother Kudus Beig S/O Abid Beig refused to go to city and stayed in village Harkhpur Post Kudwar District Sultanpur.

About 27-28 years ago After Parveen Ajmal (Ajmal Sultanpuri's daughter) marriage, his brother went to his sister's village Muili Post Jaisinghpur Dist Sultanpur and he got died, he had no childrens, then that house was given by Ajmal Sultanpuri to his daughter Parveen Ajmal W/O Shabbir Khan and she is living till now with her husband and kids.

Kahan hai mera Hindustan[4] and Agar main tera Shahjahan are two of his popular poems, which he recites at mushairas (poetry recitals).
