Lingam

Hi @Surjection:, How are you? I just checked that you have edited the Lingam's Page with <While the symbol is a phallic symbol in origin, it is usually no longer considered to be such by most devouts.> It is giving a undue & wrong attention to fact that Lingam is phallus symbol. If you want it to be merged into the article, you may need to changed it a little bit. And one more thing that any of the Traditions, sects and sampradaya of Hinduism doesn't support phallus theory as far as I know, So we have to amend it some more. It can go like this <In Sanskrit, lingam also means phallus, but it is not considered such in any of the Hindu traditions>

If you sir, don't agree with it. We can always add it under some other section but not in intro. शिव साहिल (talk) 03:52, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

@शिव साहिल: I have continued this topic on the article talk page. SURJECTION ·talk·contr·log· 09:22, 16 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings @Surjection I see that you had earlier added a section (debate around interpretation of lingam) in lingam page to stop edit war.Though you and other editors have backed their addition regarding name of lingam base part but I think that we should put this part in debate around interpretation of lingam section as far as I know ,seen and have studied it is not common to refer lingam base as yoni but if you want to keep this interpretation than I think it would be very good to put in other section as you have done earlier. Well hoping for some positive action Dr. James Varghese (talk) 15:06, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]

It is sourced content, so if you can find content that suggests otherwise, add it to that sentence (without removing the yoni part, seeing it too is sourced). SURJECTION ·talk·contr·log· 15:14, 24 July 2018 (UTC)[reply]
