Diego Tinotenda Chikombeka ,who performs under the name Diego Tryno [1] [2]is a Zimbabwean urban contemporary and hip-hop musician born 5 February 1998.He is known by many stage names including ''Mr Coffee Please'',''The Future Billionaire'' and ''Go Diego go''.[2]

Early Life

Diego was born and bred in Mutare,Zimbabwe.He was born at Sakubva District Hospital[3] and is the first born to his mother Fungisai Kanjera and his father Christopher Chikombeka.He attended his primary school at Chancellor Primary school[4] ,Mutare Juniour school [5]and Chikanga Primary School[6] before leaving Mutare.He moved to Zvishavane and continued his primary education at Gresham Primary school and later on moved to Takavarasha Primary School in Chivi district[7].After few years he moved back to Mutare and finished his primary education at Chikanga Primary School.He enrolled for his high school education at Chikanga High School before moving to Harare where he finished his high school at Living Waters High School[8].[9]

Music Career

He recorded his first track in 2014 called go diego go[10][11] .In October 2018,Diego released his debut album called ''Lazarus(Age Volume 1) [12]'' which was released in collaboration with Zimbabwean Hip-hop artist Ti Gonzi's album ''Best Mero[13]''.Diego's debut album received weighty airplay on radio stations including Star Fm,[14] ZiFm ,[15]Hevoi Fm in Masvingo[16] and SA's radio station Metro Fm[17]. He began to experiment lines of style and genres as he crafted a blend of urban contemporary,sungura,gospel,traditional music which made him a household name.[18].October 30 2018,Diego released his debut video ''Mabvuta''[19] live on ZiFm Stereo and it was played on Zimbabwe's national television channel ZBC TV.Diego Tryno started music as Ricky D a dancehall artist at a very young age before shifting to hiphop in 2014[20], . He raps in three main languages, English, Shona, and Ndebele. He has one album to his name called Lazarus(Age Vol1)[21]. Diego Tryno has been popular in southern africa but not popular at home because he was forbade to do music ,so he did it privately [22]. Diego Tryno also have couple of singles with the controversial one titled "Sungai" which is a song against corruption.[23]

International career

Diego worked with regional and international producers in the production of his music.One notable producer was Dry AFM from Botswana [24]who contributed in the mixing and mastering of his song ''yolo'' which featured a Botswana musician Proxy C.Diego Tryno started music as Ricky D a dancehall artist at a very young age before shifting to hiphop in 2014[25], . He raps in three main languages, English, Shona, and Ndebele. He has one album to his name called Lazarus(Age Vol1)[26]. Diego Tryno has been popular in southern africa but not popular at home because he was forbade to do music ,so he did it privately [27]. Diego Tryno also have couple of singles with the controversial one titled "Sungai" which is a song against corruption.[28]

Controversy

Diego surfaced on the internet in a story [1] about him being approached by devil worshipers,he released a track which was featured in his Lazarus album called ''hell naw''[29] and he described it as the most revealing track his has produced to date.
