Breaking Bad: Criminal Elements is a mobile game based on the TV show with the same name. Players build their own drug empire under the wing of the show's two main characters Walter White and Jesse Pinkman.[1] Released in June 2019 for both Android[2] and iPhone.
Gameplay
In the start of the game you are hired as a co-worker to work with Walt and Jesse. Your objective is to work your way up the ladder of crime and eventually become your own kingpin.
You can also hire other well-known characters to work on your side such as Saul Goodman, Gus Fring, Mike Ehrmantraut and many more. There are numerous activities and contracts that you can take to gain more resources.
There are three main parts/rooms of the game:
- Lab: This is where you cook meth and are able to sell it to make money. But to make meth you need to first collect sufficient amounts of resources. As your empire grows you can keep upgrading your lab.
- Compound: This is where you build your constructions such as buildings, trucks, defense, labs etc. You can also upgrade your constructions to improve the amount of resources you are making.
- Map: This is where you attempt to make heists. You can look for supplies and raid other gang members. You can make calls and prepare different units to help you on your heists.
The main types of resources are bricks, cash and gold. Bricks and cash can me acquired periodically depending on how advanced your constructions are, while gold can be acquired by completing achievements or in-app purchases and will allow you to perform some premium services or to speed up wait time for different processes.
Players can also level up by gaining experience or "XP". The only way to gain XP is to build more or upgrade existing buildings. The higher level you are the more constructions and upgrades that you have access to.
Characters
The game consists of numerous different characters that can be of your assistance. But there are main recurring characters that you will often deal with.
Main characters
- Walter White: One of your mentors who will often entrust you to accomplish different missions.
- Jesse Pinkman: Your other mentor who will teach you how to do things, especially in the beginning of the game.
- Saul Goodman: Helps you make calls to acquire new units.
- Mike Ehrmantraut: Contacts you when he has any upcoming missions for you to go on.
Release
There were rumors and news about the release of a Breaking Bad game that will let players interact with their favorite characters "in a whole new way" as early as January 11, 2019.[3]
On June 6, 2019 the game was officially released by FTX Games LTD on both the App Store and Play Store. The game was developed with close collaboration with the creators of the TV show so it can have a real Breaking Bad feel to it.[4]
