All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite |
AEW Dark is a professional wrestling web television program that is produced by the American promotion All Elite Wrestling (AEW) and airs on their YouTube channel. The show is hosted in studio by Tony Schiavone[1][2] and Dasha Gonzalez.
The program features dark matches taped before and after the preceding episode of All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite, as well as feature segments highlighting the previous week's Dynamite and interviews with AEW personalities.
History
On October 2, 2019 All Elite Wrestling: Dynamite premiered on TNT. During the event there were four dark matches, two before and two after the live broadcast.[3] During the media scrum following this event, AEW founder Tony Khan stated that the dark matches would become available in some way. On October 5, AEW Executive Vice President Cody announced Dynamite's sister program, AEW Dark, which began airing on Tuesdays on AEW's YouTube channel on October 8, with the exception, as announced on November 6 by AEW ring announcer Justin Roberts, of the final Dynamite episode before an AEW pay-per-view, which the Dark episode will air on Friday before the pay-per-view.[4][5]
During the November 5 episode, Tony Schiavone announced AEW Spanish commentator Dasha Gonzalez would be his co-host going forward.[6] During the November 6 Dynamite episode at Bojangles' Coliseum, ring announcer Justin Roberts announced that the dark match being taped at the time would be posted on Friday instead of Tuesday. This was made because the November 6 episode was the "go-home show" before the ensuing Saturday night's pay-per-view, AEW Full Gear, and the storylines will often change after the pay-per-view.
