Svevia
Svevia is an independent public company which builds and operates roads and infrastructure in Sweden. Svevia is the fourth largest civil engineering company in the country, with approximately 1,800 employees and a turnover of SEK 7.6 billion (in 2017). It is the largest road operation and maintenance company in Sweden.
History
In 2009, the production division of the former Swedish Road Administration (Vägverket) was spun off into the independent public company Svevia.[1]
From 2011 to 2017, Svevia downsized its workforce from 2,800 to 2,000.[1]
Description
The company headquarters is in Solna. The chairman is Olof Ehrlén and the president and CEO is Anders Gustafsson.
The name "Svevia" is also the Italian-language exonym for Swabia, a historical region of Germany.
