The image identifies the reaction the Jackson siblings had to the 1993 child sexual abuse accusations against Michael Jackson, it is one of the few examples whereby Janet Jackson publicly supported her brother. The image identifies the one piece of work that both Jackson siblings were involved in, something that never happened again. The image identifies the worlds most expensive music video. The video is also one of the most critically acclaimed winning a Grammy and a record breaking 11 MTV video music awards nominations. Article commentary highlights how Janet Jackson has "taken on a darker persona, previously unseen in her music videos". Jim Farber of the New York Daily News described her as "Sporting a thick thatch of wig hair, and eyes darkened by coal-black makeup...sullen and arty...Janet, however, never looked tougher. Or more in control". The image is needed to aid the readers understanding of this drastic change in image. |
