Puah Rakovsky (born 1865) was a professional educator, Zionist activist and feminist leader. She worked towards upliftment of Jewish women.[1][2][3][4]

Early Life

Rakovsky was born on July 3, 1865 in Bialystok, Poland in a traditional Jewish family. Her father Menahem Mendel was a rabbi and seventeen years old at her time of birth. She was the oldest child of her parents and had fourteen siblings.[1][2]

Education

Rakovsky was home schooled and studied Hebrew, Yiddish and secular subjects.[3]
