Dante Hall

Damieon Dante Hall (born September 20, 1978 in Lufkin, Texas) is an NFL kick/punt returner, and wide receiver. He has played for the Kansas City Chiefs since 2000. He was a 5th round draft pick out of Texas A&M University.

Hall played high school football for Nimitz High School in Harris County, Texas (near Houston). He spent the spring of 2001 playing in NFL Europe for the Scottish Claymores.

Dante Hall is known as the "Human Joystick" in the NFL for his moves during kick returns. In 2002, Dante returned 1 kickoff and 2 punts for touchdowns. Then, in 2003, Dante returned a kickoff or a punt for a touchdown four games in a row, which is an NFL record. The most memorable moment of his career came against the Denver Broncos in which he reversed direction 2 times to out-juke the entire special teams unit with the help of neglected illegal blocking. His touchdown occurred in the final moments of the game.

Another memorable game occurred in the 2005 season against the Broncos. Hall appeared to be on his way to a sure kickoff return for a touchdown, but he surprisingly fumbled the ball without being touched by a defensive player. However, Hall made up for his mistake by returning a different kickoff for a touchdown later in the game.

With a touchdown on a kickoff return against the Philadelphia Eagles on October 2, 2005, he tied four players, among them Ollie Matson and Gale Sayers, for the most career kickoff return touchdowns, with six. This was also his 10th kick return TD, placing him third in that category behind Brian Mitchell (13) and Eric Metcalf (12). He moved closer to Mitchell and Metcalf with a punt return for a TD on October 1, 2006 against the San Francisco 49ers.

Dante Hall has played for the AFC team in two Pro Bowls.

Dante Hall is also the co-author of Dante Hall: X-Factor, a book that details his journey from Texas A&M running back to one of the best kick returners in the NFL.
