Dexter R. Voisin

Dexter Rommell Voisin (born 1963) is an American professor, social work scientist, author, licensed psychotherapist,.[1] and public speaker[2] whose work focuses on the impact of structural violence on the psychosocial development of racial and sexual minorities[3] [4]and the factors that promote resiliency despite embedded inequalities[5][6]. He is currently the Dean at the University of Toronto’s Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social (FIFSW)[7], which is the oldest school of social work in Canada[8], and is ranked #1 nationally and #2 globally among all schools of social work[9]. He also holds the Sandra Rotman Chair in Social Work at the University of Toronto,[10] which is ranked 18th among all universities globally[11]. Prior to his appointment as Dean in July, 2019 he was Director and Co-Director at the STI/HIV Intervention Network and the Chicago Center for HIV Elimination at the University of Chicago, for two decades[12]
