Case Fatality Rate

Of critical note, Case Fatality Rates (CFR) will change as additional research and data are available.

China

In a study of mainland China cases reported up to February 11th, 2020, of 72,314 people, 1023 died with an overall case fatality rate of 2.3%. Rates varied by age as follows:

  • 0-9: No deaths
  • 10-19: .2%
  • 20-29: .2%
  • 30-39: .2%
  • 40-49: .4%
  • 50-59: 1.3%
  • 60-69: 3.6%
  • 70-79: 8.0%
  • 80+: 14.8%

Rates varied by Comorbidity (Complicating Conditions) as follows:
