Review

[edit]
GA review (see here for what the criteria are, and here for what they are not)

This is my first GA review, so please be patient with me.

  1. It is reasonably well written.
a (prose, spelling, and grammar): b (MoS for lead, layout, word choice, fiction, and lists):
The prose is tight and snappy, with appropriate detail but not excessively so. No stylistic issues I could find. The question mark on 1b is related to a specific sentence that may not be salvageable since the leaked audio had to be removed from this article; see 6. Otherwise, 1b is a pass.
  2. It is factually accurate and verifiable.
a (reference section): b (citations to reliable sources): c (OR): d (copyvio and plagiarism):
Most of the sources are music and culture outlets (Complex, Rolling Stone, etc.), augmented by a few reviews and coverage in news-focused outlets such as the New York Times. Appropriate reference density. Earwig notes similarity to a few articles but the sections in question are quotes, such as those from Nicki Minaj.
  3. It is broad in its coverage.
    a (major aspects): b (focused):
The article maintains appropriate focus by explaining prior West-Minaj collaborations and the history of the track when it was a collaboration with 6ix9ine.
  4. It follows the neutral point of view policy.
    Fair representation without bias:
Presents a variety of critical opinions of the song as well as the public statements by West and Minaj in particular over the track's evolution.
  5. It is stable.
    No edit wars, etc.:
Most of the edits have been by the main contributor. (I dropped by and added a short description, by the way.)
  6. It is illustrated by images and other media, where possible and appropriate.
a (images are tagged and non-free content have fair use rationales): b (appropriate use with suitable captions):
Media are all freely licensed. Captions provided. It's unfortunate the leaked audio and song descriptions had to be removed, but that was a necessary alteration to avoid potential legal issues. (That said, is the mention of "flutes and a bassline" from the lead section still verifiable without what had to be taken out?)
  7. Overall:
    Pass/Fail:
My only concern is the one lead sentence issue. Otherwise, I think this meets the GA criteria.
@Raymie: The line about the punchy bassline and flutes were from an unreliable source, so I removed it. I also paraphrased part of Minaj's quote to avoid copyvio issues. Nice4What (talk · contribs) – (Thanks ) 12:50, 5 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
@Nice4What: Thanks for updating me. That resolves my remaining concern so I've rolled that into a tick. Thanks also to User:GoingBatty for going through with the scripts. Raymie (tc) 00:35, 6 May 2020 (UTC)[reply]
