Wondering about the list of books - it would get unwieldy if it had *every* O'Reilly book there. I added a representative sample, i.e. the ones I own :) There should probablary be a Perl and a Missing Manual in there to be more representative, but I'm not sure which to pick... I would suggest including Sed & Awk as that is a very popular book amongst Unix/Linux administrators and programmers, a mention of the "Nutshell" series of books (eg. Java in a Nutshell), the JavaScript Definitive Guide (aka the Rhino book - in fact Mozilla's JavaScript interpreter is called Rhino in homage) and every network admin's favourite book: DNS & BIND. I wouldn't say either the Mozilla Applications or the PostgreSQL books were anywhere near as popular. --195.8.190.39 13:24, 11 Oct 2004 (UTC)

which animal book had a chinchilla cover?

I was watching an episode of 12 Oz. Mouse on Adult Swim a few nights ago and I notice a character on there, which I think is a chinchilla or some kind of rodent, looks exactly like the cover of one of the O'Reilly books -- ie, the same woodcut graphic. But I can't seem to find which one it is. Was it even an O'Reilly book I saw? I couldn't find it on O'Reilly's website. It's driving me crazy. --69.234.181.141 21:40, 12 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Why the animal covers?

Maybe the article could include an explanation of why they started putting random animals on the cover of that one series of books.
