Fengqi You is a professor and holds the Roxanne E. and Michael J. Zak Professorship at Cornell University in the United States.[1][2] His research focuses on process systems engineering.[3] According to Google Scholar, his h-index is 58.[4]

Career

You earned his Ph.D. from Carnegie Mellon University, and completed his undergraduate studies at Tsinghua University.[5][6] After working at Argonne National Laboratory and Northwestern University, he moved to Cornell University, where he holds positions in Systems Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Operations Research, Information Engineering, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Mechanical Engineering.[7] He teaches courses on computational optimization, machine learning, and deep learning, as well as process design.[8] He is Cornell Energy Systems Institute's associate director, [9] and Chair of Ph.D. Studies in Systems Engineering.[10]

You is an associate editor of Science Advances[11] and editor of Computers & Chemical Engineering.[12] He is a member of the editorial boards of ACS Sustainable Chemistry & Engineering, AIChE Journal, and the Industrial & Engineering Chemistry.[13][14]

There are news reports on his research topics related to carbon capture,[15] renewable energy systems,[16] quantum computing,[17] solar panels,[18] artificial intelligence and building energy control,[19][20] digital agriculture, [21][22] animal science,[23] food-water-energy systems,[24] biofuels,[25] and smart irrigation.[26] In 2020, he led a team to create a website to chart the daily COVID-19 spread across New York.[27][28]
