Nirmala Govindarajan is an Indian writer, theatre actor , activist and a journalist based in Bangalore, India. She was mentored in writing and documentation by Late Peter Colaco, a Bangalore based author who passed away at the age of 67.[1]. Nirmala is now a full time social sector documentarian[2] after serving as the Editor of 'Arts and culture' of The Times of India Bangalore.[3] Nirmala has a bachelor's degree in sociology and a Master's degree in Literature from the University of Madras.

Notable Works

Her book "Hungers daughter" published in December 2018 is a collection of her experiences in documenting India's rural sector.[4] Her recent work "Taboo" published in 2019 documents the lives of under-aged girls who are forced into sex trade.[5] In 2016 she published " Community catalyst" inspired by the life and times of a civil servant.[6]
