The Scribblies were a Minneapolis-based fantasy fiction writer's group. Members included Nate Bucklin, Emma Bull, Steven Brust, Kara Dalkey, Pamela Dean, Will Shetterly and Patricia Wrede.

These authors all contributed short stories in the Liavek anthologies. Liavek was a shared-world series edited by Emma Bull and Will Shetterly.

The group began without a formal name. After several of its members sold novels to Ace Books, the publisher asked for a name to use in their publicity. Since Pamela Dean had moved to Boston, the group decided to become the Interstate Writers Workshop, or "The Scribblies". (The name is a joke inspired by the Industrial Workers of the World, "the Wobblies").
