East Allegheny is a neighborhood on Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, USA's North Side. It has a ZIP Code of 15212, and has representation on Pittsburgh City Council by the council member for District 1 (North Central Neighborhoods). Also known as Deutschtown, it is a 15-minute walk to downtown Pittsburgh, across the Allegheny River. Also within walking distance are the Allegheny Commons, the National Aviary, the Andy Warhol Museum, the Carnegie Science Center, the river trail along the Allegheny river with kayak rental under the Sixth Street Bridge, and sister neighborhoods: the Mexican War Streets, Allegheny West, and Manchester.

The neighborhood citizens group is the East Allegheny Community Council. See its website at www.Deutschtown.org for a self-guided walking tour of the neighborhood (Resources), and accomplishments and history of zoning battles since 1978 (About Us). The goal for the residential section is single-family, owner-occupied, properly restored, well-maintained houses. It is a neighborhood in transition with many houses still in need of restoration available at low prices.
