The ropes have a layer of short colorless hair during summer, per the article, which are visible in this photo, per photographer Cart [1].

It's a bit grainy, but underwater photography is notoriously hard. Support, I suppose, since I'm sure the more photography-based people here will eviscerate it if it's not up to standards whether I'm too lenient or not, but if I am right and this is good, I'll be glad I voted to support.
