Dylan James Mullen, born February 10, 1994 in Boston, Massachusetts is an American producer, singer, and songwriter. Known professionally as Smokeasac, Mullen gained notoriety as a collaborator and producer for emo-rap artist, Lil Peep. [1][2] He's also produced music for iLoveMakonnen, among others.[3]

Solo Career

In 2018, Smokeasac began his solo career with single, "Leave You Behind," which was featured on BBC Radio 1's Rock Show with Daniel P. Carter.[4] His debut EP, Wasteland999, was reached on March 8, 2019.[5] During his shows, Smokeasac sometimes plays music from Lil Peep's Come Over When You're Sober Pt. 2[6]

Smokeasac & Lil Peep

Smokeasac first met Lil Peep while living in Virginia. The two connected over music platform, SoundCloud and eventually both moved to Los Angeles to focus on their music careers. During that time, Lil Peep advanced his rapping and singing capabilities while Smokeasac experimented with sampling emo song intros. With their complementary skills, Lil Peep and Smokeasac maintained a strong working relationship. Smokeasac became one of Lil Peep's go to producers throughout his career. Smokeasac also helped Lil Peep land a management contract with First Access Entertainment.

Lil Peep - Come Over When You're Sober

Smokeasac co-produced Lil Peep's "Come Over When You're Sober" Pt. 1 and 2 albums with George Astasio (Iggy Azalea, Sugababes).[7][8] Rob Cavallo (My Chemical Romance, and Linkin Park) was also a contributor.

Throughout the project, Smokeasac worked as the intermediary between Astasio and Lil Peep, and became an integral part of Part 2’s overall feel and essence. It’s due to this arrangement that Smokeasac took responsibility for maintaining Lil Peep’s legacy and assisted with Part 2’s release.[9]
