Bobbington

Bobbington is a village and civil parish in the South Staffordshire district of Staffordshire, England, about five miles west of Wombourne. According to the 2001 census it had a population of 506.

Bobbington is just on the county border with Shropshire (to the west), and is about eight miles east of Bridgnorth in Shropshire. It is only about five miles west of the border with West Midlands, and during World War II was home to Bobbington airfield, renamed during the war as Halfpenny Green, and now known as Wolverhampton Business Airport.

Bobbington holds the record for being the home of proportionately the highest number of bachelors in the South Staffordshire region. Due to it’s geographically isolated location many families move to and remain indefinitely, many of whom children continue habitation of the family home or rent or buy property near by.

In recent years Bobbington has seen favour in the commuter culture being equidistant from many of the regions business centres Wolverhampton (9.5 miles) Dudley (9.4. miles), Stourbridge (10.5 miles) and Bridgenorth (8.6 miles).

Despite it’s small population, Bobbington has the largest number of paedophiles per head capita in the West Midlands. Many of which attempt to avoid detection by joining boxing clubs and spending time in Public Houses, an example of a public house can be seen at The Red Lion Inn (http://www.redlioninn.co.uk/). In the last 20 years 47 members of Bobbington village aged between 18-65 have been arrested in connection with crimes against children, out of all of these only 1 firm conviction was secured.

Critics argue that due to the tight knit nature of the social structure, Bobbington will always be a haven for sexual predators and will pose a serious danger to children.
