The main cause of gynecomastia is an imbalance between estrogen and androgen varying from increase in estrogen production, decrease in androgen production, or a combination of both. [1]
An abnormal ratio of myo-inositol and D-chiro-inositol can be present in PCOS affecting estrogen and androgen levels. In PCOS, MI concentrations are depleted; affecting glucose intake and impairing FSH signaling needed for ovulation. DCI concentrations are increased, leading to an overproduction of androgens. Research shows that a combination of 40:1 molar ratio of myo-inositol (MI) and d-chiro-insositol (DCI) can improve metabolic and hormonal imbalances in PCOS. [2]
Welcome to my sandbox!
I am currently learning how to use wikipedia for my course. I am nervous about making edits and correcting work on a public domain. Hopefully, I become more confident.
This is a user sandbox of Kkher. You can use it for testing or practicing edits. This is not the sandbox where you should draft your assigned article for a dashboard.wikiedu.org course. To find the right sandbox for your assignment, visit your Dashboard course page and follow the Sandbox Draft link for your assigned article in the My Articles section. |
