John Hillcoat is a former Dunfermline, Hamilton, Partick Thistle, Clydebank, Morton, Queen of the South, St. Mirren, Dumbarton, Stranraer and Ayr Goalkeeper. He is currently a Brechin Player/Coach and writes a column for the Sunday Mail newspaper.[1][2]

John Hillcoat grew up in Linwood where he attended Linwood High School.[citation needed]
