Hadrut (Armenian: Հադրութ) is a town in the Khojavend District of Azerbaijan.
History
After the creation of the Nagorno-Karabakh Autonomous Oblast within Azerbaijan SSR, Hadrut was made the centre of the Hadrut District of the autonomous oblast of Azerbaijan. The town of Hadrut had around 2,400 registered inhabitants in 1939 of which more than 90% was Armenian,[2] as well as an Armenian majority in 1989.[3] The Hadrut district existed until the abolition of the Autonomous Oblast on the 26th of November 1991.[4] Following the First Nagorno-Karabakh War the city became part of the Hadrut Province of the self-proclaimed Republic of Artsakh.
During the 2020 Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, heavy fighting took place in Hadrut, which were marked by the usage of cluster munitions by the Azerbaijani Army.[5] Azerbaijani authorities stated that Hadrut had been captured on 9 October.[6] This was confirmed later with videos released by Azerbaijani Ministry of Defence.[7]

The town is home to the Mika-Hadrut Winery, which produces brandy, vodka, and wine.[8]
