Allt för Sverige (literally Anything for Sweden, marketed in the United States as The Great Swedish Adventure) is a Swedish reality show based on the original Norwegian format Culture Shock:Norway (Alt for Norge). The first season of Allt för Sverige premiered on Sveriges Television SVT1 on October 30, 2011, and the last episode aired on December 18, 2011. The series is about Swedish Americans who return to their Swedish roots. In the program, they give the participants more about their families but in each episode one in the group must leave the show and therefore know less about their ancestry.

The host of the program is Anders Lundin. The cast for the first season include: Shastin Corona, Kirstin Highfield, Jessica Pleyel, Jennifer Grannis, Janis Babcock, Guy Clark, Greg Magnuson, Eric Chellen, Brett Ratell and Brian Gerard. The cast for the second season include: Walter Beck, Karen Peterson French, Thure Gustafsson, Vernon Ferguson, Travis McAfee, Anna Ostman Mohr, Meghan Reilly, Matty Robinson, Debra Sisneros, and Kelsey Stiles. The format was originally developed for TVNorge by the Norwegian based American format developers, The Oxymorons, David J. Berner and Eric R. Williams.

In season one, each of the eight episodes was wonderfully filmed in various locations ranging from Hallands Väderö to the Arctic Circle to Stockholm. Jennifer Grannis was the first contestant to be sent home. This occurred during the second episode of Allt för Sverige, which was broadcast on November 6, 2011. Jennifer left behind her sister Shastin as an active contestant to track down their family history.

In the eighth and final episode, filmed on the island of Utö and broadcast December 18, 2011, the Kentucky preacher Brian Gerard, New York City designer Guy Clark, Colorado student Kirstin Highfield and Florida police officer Shastin Corona participated in the final. Kirstin and Shastin ended up at 3rd and 4th place respectively, leaving Brian and Guy competing for 1st place. In the end it was Brian who won by less than 10 seconds in the final. Brian got to meet the Swedish part of his family at the end of the last show.

The first season of Allt för Sverige was nominated for a Kristallen, which is the Swedish equivalent to an American Emmy.

Season two began airing on October 28, 2012 at 8:00 PM on SVT1.[1]
