Bing is a British television series based on the books by Ted Dewan and produced by Acamar Films, in association with Brown Bag Films and Tandem Ltd.[1] It airs on CBeebies. The series centers on a cheerful three-year-old bunny rabbit called Bing (voiced by child actor Elliot Kerley), with episodes involving him learning how to cope with new experiences, such as playing nicely and imaginatively, caring for toys, handling tantrums and making the best of a negative situation. Mark Rylance voices Flop, a toy rabbit who is Bing's guardian, who comforts and assists Bing when he is facing a problem. Bing also has several friends to play with - Sula (an elephant) Coco (also a bunny) and Pando (a panda) and each of these characters have toy carers of their own. The show's central phrase is "It's a Bing thing!" which Flop intones at the end of each episode when Bing has successfully conquered a troubling task or enjoyed a new childhood experience.

Bing, voiced by Elliot Kerley,[2] is the titular character of the show. He is a cheerful and energetic three-year old black rabbit who, in every episode, learns of a new way of approaching problems in life. His favourite toy is Hoppity, a rabbit superhero.

Flop, voiced by Mark Rylance,[3] is an orange toy and is Bing's carer, guiding Bing through his toddler life, entertaining him and soothing him when he faces a problem.

Sula, voiced by Eve Bentley, is Bing's best friend. She is an Indian elephant. She is playful and sweet-natured but also sensitive.

Amma,[4] voiced by Akiya Henry, is Sula's carer. Like Sula, she's an elephant, but she is the same size as Flop and is a blue toy one. She also runs a creche which the show's child characters sometimes visit.

Pando, voiced by Shai Portnoy, is a panda who is close friends with Bing, though not as much as Sula and Coco. Pando is notably more eccentric than the other three child characters, and enjoys beat-boxing, sometimes doing so on whim. He is younger than most of the others, at two years old.

Padget, voiced by Bryony Hannah, is Pando's carer, resembling a green bear toy. She owns a small shop nearby where Bing lives.

Coco, voiced by Jocelyn Macnab, is a grey rabbit who is one of Bing's cousins (the other being her little brother, Charlie).[5] She is the eldest child character at four years old. She enjoys playfully teasing Bing. Of the four child characters, she is the only one who is often independent of a carer.

Charlie, voiced by Poppy Hendley, is Coco's baby brother, who cannot talk.

Mm is Coco and Charlie's carer, she is red and wears glasses. She is rarely seen in the episodes, but can be seen in the title sequence on her phone and then driving away.

Episodes

Episode Structure

Each episode lasts seven to eight minutes. Most episodes follows this basic structure:

1. At the start of each episode, Bing is enjoying some activity.

2. Bing then discovers something new, and becomes fascinated by it.

3. Bing engages in this new activity, learning something valuable from it.

4. Suddenly, something negative occurs, making Bing upset.

5. Flop calms Bing down and reassures him that things will be set right.

6. The problem is resolved, normally with help from Flop and friends.

7. Bing summarizes the episode, with Flop intoning "It's a Bing thing".
