Catacomb Snatch is a shoot-'em-up/strategy game with a Steampunk/Ancient Egypt theme (both genere and theme were taken as the highest and lowest voted upon of each on Mojang's website. It was made for the Mojam Humble Bundle by Mojang where 100% of proceeds ($455,870.62 at the time of posting) went (in the donor's chosen distribution) to four charities/non-profits including charity: water, Child's Play (charity), Electronic Frontier Foundation, and American Red Cross.
Gameplay
The gameplay consists of shooting enemies and their spawners to get coins which you use to buy turrets, coin collectors, bombs, tracks, and bots to collect the victory resource.
Is can be played single- or multi/2-player with players starting on opposite sides of the map and competing to see who can fill their collection percentage first.
Controls
Since the game is available but undocumented:
- [space]/Shift/Ctrl/Alt/C = Fire
- Z/E = buy, pickup and place
- X/R = place track (10g to place 15g to remove), or when standing on the initial section of track place bot(50g)
- WASD/Arrows/Numpad = move (currently you must release and re-press fire to change direction, this allows strafing)
Entities:
- Bots - used to mine/collect unknown resource from the victory pedestal at the center of the map
- Gold Sarcophagus = spawn point for mobs, shoot to destroy
- Mobs = bats, snakes, & mummies seem about the same difficulty with different movement patterns
