This is a maintenance category, used for maintenance of the Wikipedia project. It is not part of the encyclopedia and contains non-article pages, or groups articles by status rather than subject. Do not include this category in content categories.

This is the top level of Wikipedia's category system (which is why it has no parent category). Its subcategories contain various types of encyclopaedic content (e.g. articles and glossaries), content that assists with the navigation of the encyclopaedia (e.g. indexes and portals), as well as pages related to the maintenance of the encyclopaedia (e.g. Wikipedia administration and WikiProjects).
