This category groups together articles that describe procedures by which light-sensitive materials are made to produce an image. The category should not be confused with Category:Photographic techniques, which comprises articles describing procedures related to how a photograph is taken or composed, or is manipulated during or after processing.

Many photographic processes in recent or current use date from the 19th century; do not overlook Category:Photographic processes dating from the 19th century, which collects processes that were invented early, regardless of how long they lasted.
