Chimbote District

The District of Chimbote is located in the ancashina province of Santa, Peru. It limits the north with the region the Freedom (districts of Ciao and Guadalupito, province of Virú) and the districts of Santa and Coishco, the east with those of Macate and Cáceres of Peru and to the south with the district again Chimbote.

Its capital is the city Chimbote, as well host of the provincial capital. It was created the 6 of December of 1906 by law Nº417. Km² has a surface of 1,467 and includes North half of the city of Chimbote, the Bay of Chimbote until the Alconcillo beach and the islands Blanca and Ferrol.
