Ignacio Jesús Trujillo Cabrera[note 1] (born 6 July 1971), known as Chus Trujillo, is a Spanish retired footballer and manager, who is currently in charge of Terrassa FC.

Career

Trujillo was born in Las Palmas and during his playing days, he represented Atlético Tenoya. After retiring as a player, he began his coaching career in the youth ranks at his local club, Las Palmas, and in 2009 - Trujillo left Las Palmas and became a manager in his own right with Goleta, in the regional leagues.

Trujillo would spend four years with Goleta and led them to promotion to the Regional Preferente during the 2012–13 season, after which he left the club and took over the reins of San Antonio. During his only season in charge of San Antonio, he led them to 5th-placed finish with a tally of 57 points.

In May 2014, Trujillo returned to Las Palmas, where he took over the C team and he would lead the team for two seasons before becoming Manolo Márquez's assistant at Las Palmas B in June 2016.[1] After helping the B team achieved promotion to the third tier, Trujillo left as he wasn't part of Marquez's coaching staff of the first team.

On 14 November 2017, Trujillo was named manager of Primera Regional side, Tamaraceite,[2] at the end of the 2017–18 season, they achieved promotion to the Third Division of Spain, becoming champion of the Preferential Regional. During the 2018–19 season, Trujillo led Tamaraceite to a first-placed finish, but they fell to defeats in the play-offs against Peña Deportiva and Prat, but despite this he renewed his contract with El Támara.[3] During the curtailed 2019–20 season, Trujillo led Tamaraceite to the play-offs once again and this time the side got promoted to the Segunda División B for the first time in the clubs history. On 24 June 2021, after keeping Tamaraceite in the third tier, Trujillo left the club.[4]

On 25 June 2021, a day after leaving Tamaraceite, Trujillo was named as manager of Segunda División RFEF side Ceuta,[5] at the end of his first season, Trujillo lead Ceuta to promotion to the Primera Federación, after winning play-off games against Navalcarnero and Unión Adarve respectively.[6]

On 18 September 2022, Trujillo was sacked by Ceuta, following a winless start to the campaign.[7]

On 4 October 2023, after more than a year without a club, Trujillo was named as the manager of Terrassa in the Segunda Federación.[8]
