Dún Laoghaire Institute of Art, Design and Technology (IADT) is located at Dún Laoghaire, Ireland and was created in the 1960s as an arts school of Dún Laoghaire Vocational Education Committee. The institution became a Regional Technical College in 1997 as the Dún Laoghaire College of Art and Design. The institution has a particularly strong emphasis on arts with the Irish National Film School residing on campus. The college places huge emphasis on media and visual arts, and also offers courses in commerce and technology. The college is made-up of three faculties or schools: the School of Business and Humanities, the School of Creative Arts, and the School of Creative Technologies.

Film School

The Irish National film school offers the only BA in film and television in the country, although the Huston School in Galway and Ballyfermot College of FE in Dublin do offer non-accredited diplomas in film. IADT also offers a degree in Animation, Model Making and Makeup allowing students of different disciplines to work together on projects. The institute has been criticised by students for gaps in their otherwise comprehensive creative arts programs. Musical engineering and drama would make logical additions to the colleges repertoire, allowing further interdisciplinary collaboration. Notable visiting lectures over the years include Jim Sheridan, Oliver Stone, Neil Jordan and Stephen Rea.

Business School

The Institute has a highly regarded Business school. It offers a unique Bachelor of Business and Entrepreneurship course. This course is thought to a very high standard with a significant amount of continuous assessment. There have been notable visiting lecturers over the years including Denis O'Brien, Emmet Daly, Cyril McGuire, Brian Fallon and Fran Rooney.
