Arthur C. "Art" Bartner is an American musician best known as the director of the Spirit of Troy at the University of Southern California, a position he has held since 1970.

Early life and education

Bartner was raised in Maplewood, New Jersey and attended the University of Michigan, where he played trumpet in the University of Michigan Marching Band from 1958 to 1962, eventually going on to earn a doctorate in music education from the school.[1]
