Hadley Freeman (born 1978[1]) is an American journalist based in the United Kingdom.[2]

She was born in New York to Jewish parents,[citation needed] and attended St Anne's College, Oxford University, where she read English Literature and edited Cherwell.

Freeman is a columnist and writer for The Guardian newspaper who also contributes to the UK version of Vogue.[3]

Her first book, The Meaning of Sunglasses: A Guide to (Almost) All Things Fashionable, ISBN 978-0-670-01867-3, was published in 2008.
