11"The Competition Begins"July 13, 2011 (2011-07-13)
Abby Lee Miller is the owner of her self-named dance company in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Abby is known for her outrageous costumes, no-nonsense behavior, and respectable reputation in dance. It is not easy to please Abby, nor is it a piece of cake to tolerate her presence. This week, the dancers attend a dance competition in Phoenix where Chloe has a wardrobe malfunction on stage, leading to Abby and Christi bickering in the hallway. A new mom, Cathy, joins the team with her little girl Vivi-Anne.
22"Wildly Inappropriate"July 20, 2011 (2011-07-20)
After seeing how provocative costumes won over the judges at the last competition, Abby designs revealing costumes for this week's group routine "Electricity" in Lancaster, Pennsylvania. The moms are horrified by not only the costumes but also the dance, and Christi and Holly confront Abby after the dance to share their opinions. The dance and costume were "Wildly Inappropriate." Because of that the judges and audience hated the dance and costumes and the routine didn't place.
33"Cheerleader Blues"July 27, 2011 (2011-07-27)
This week's group dance style is acro, so Abby pulls in star acro dancer Brooke. When Brooke injures her hip, she wants to quit dancing altogether for cheerleading. Kelly forces her to continue dancing, which may lead to serious medical problems. Brooke wanted to spend more time with her friends and stop all of it. Her mom makes her go to a competition meaning that she missed her friends birthday party. Vivi feels uncomfortable with the solo that Abby taught her so Cathy decides to have Vivi perform a routine that she already knew without telling Abby.
44"Stealing the Show"August 3, 2011 (2011-08-03)
In order to have every girl shine, Abby gives each dancer a solo except Maddie who gets two solos. Christi and Kelly are worried that Maddie has an advantage over the other dancers and Christi confronts Melissa and Abby after the competition awards ceremony only to end up in a vicious argument that ends in tears.
55"When Stars Collide"August 10, 2011 (2011-08-10)
The moms and their daughters are excited when they learn an established Broadway casting director is coming to see Abby and the dancers, but the auditions go badly for each dancer. When Maddie is asked to speak to the casting director personally after the annual ALDC showcase, Christi believes the whole thing was a set-up. Abby even has the moms perform a dance in the showcase and she asks Cathy to choreograph it. To everyone's surprise and embarrassment, Cathy starts improvising her routine mid-performance.
66"Dying to Dance"August 17, 2011 (2011-08-17)
Christi finds out her grandmother is in the hospital on a ventilator and must choose between staying with Chloe for her big dance or supporting her grandmother. The dancers perform a routine called "Where Have All the Children Gone", which is about children who have gone missing, which throws the mothers off a bit. It ends up winning first place overall. The dance routine however, was scary and slow dancing. Vivi and Makenzie who are the youngest on the team were on a swing set in the background.
