This is a list of major characters from the American animated television series The Grim Adventures of Billy & Mandy.

Grim

Voiced by: Greg Eagles

Grim is the Grim Reaper, personification of Death, a scythe-wielding skeleton in a black hooded robe. He is over 10,000 years old, speaks in a Jamaican accent, and was elected to his position when he was in middle school. Grim is a relatively carefree figure who particularly enjoys his job, but often appears less than happy with his life. Grim enjoys chaos, despair, torture, and many other dark themes. He attends children's martial arts classes. Grim is slowly adapting to modern life, and is usually seen watching television, or eating snacks, and sometimes gardening. His scythe is the source of his powers and possesses many magical qualities though he is still capable of using magic without it (these instances are rare).

Growing up with a father who loved listening to country rock, more than spending time with his own son, Grim pretended to be a country rock star to gain his father's attention. He would later discover his true passion for reaping the souls of mortals, and make it his goal to become a reaper. During his grade school years, Grim befriended a humanoid spider named Velma Green, and made his first major enemy, the Boogey Man. While Grim and Velma were considered nerds in school, they remained best friends for years until the reaper election in middle school. In an attempt to stop the Boogey Man from cheating himself into the position of reaper, Grim found himself in an incriminating situation. Believing that her best friend had cheated her out of the position as reaper, Velma developed a powerful hatred for Grim.

Centuries later, Grim lost a bet to Billy and Mandy, and under the authority of the underworld contract, he was fated to be their "best friend" forever. The contract is legally binding to the point that if he tries to leave via portal, the portal reappears somewhere in Billy's house. Despite this, the children treat him more like a slave, often forcing him to do their chores or create supernatural fun for them. This indiginity often leads him to seek ways of getting out of his contract, none of which have worked so far. He has also tried getting the children into dangerous situations in the hopes that they will not make it out alive, but his attempts always prove to be unsuccessful.

While Grim appears to have a pacifistic nature, there are often times when he openly displays fits of anger. He usually appears indifferent to what is happening around him, but this is probably due to his hatred towards Billy and Mandy. Due to the fact that he is bound to them, Grim will often help them with their problems or concerns, but he usually does so half-heartedly.

Billy

Voiced by: Richard Steven Horvitz

Billy is a happy-go-lucky,dim-witted,naive child, with an IQ of -5. He has a large pink nose, wears a blue and white striped shirt, and covers his orange hair with a red hat. Like his father, he has a number of unpleasant habits, including nose-picking, flatulence, and male chauvinism. Occasionally prone to nonsensical fits of rage (these instances show even MANDY running away rather than face him), he is hyperactive, with a knack for causing disasters, often related to abusing Grim's supernatural items that he usually finds in Grim's trunk, Billy has an obsession with naming most of his new friends. He has Arachnophobia, Entomophobia, and Coulrophobia.

Mandy

Voiced by: Grey DeLisle

Mandy is Billy's closest friend, but has been full of rage since before her birth. She has a blond devil-horn-like hairdo. She is also the only human character to have no nose, but according to her, she doesn't have one because it is disgusting.

She has an acerbic and sardonic personality, often saying things like, "I'm all for the abuse and exploitation of the stupid"; in the episode Billy Gets an A, Grim sums her up as a "heartless, foul, despicable demon child". She is very intelligent, and hates other people being smarter than she is. Mandy believes that she never loses, and sees such instances as choosing not to win. She is almost fearless, and is willing to stand up to schoolyard bullies and monsters from the underworld without flinching. The only thing she is seen running from in a vague sort of fear is an enraged Billy. However it is also implied by Billy and Grim that she has a fear of professional figure skating. It is later revealed that her deepest fear is becoming a loving person and marrying Irwin. When she is forced to face this fear, she comments that she was supposed to have done something important with her life, and promptly flees from the illusion.

Mandy is bossy, and can intimidate almost anyone into doing what she wants with her threats. She almost never smiles, and torments everyone, including her parents, who fear her very presence. It is even shown that she has a measure of control over almost everyone living in the town of Endsville, and can extend her will upon them if she wishes. This is first seen when her parents hire an imported nanny to teach her some manners and discipline. She retaliates by exerting her control over the denizens of the town and using them to get rid of the nanny. Mandy is also a napkin collector, and has dreams of ruling the world. She once got the chance to do this, but she turned it down, as she wants to wait when the time is right.
