Scarborough High School is a high school (9-12) located in Scarborough, Maine. Patricia A. Conant is the principal. The student population is approximately 1,100 students and another 100 staff members. Staff member of the year was voted by the students to be Mr. George Jones, a history teacher at the school. Also, the most desired substitute is David Ross. Although he substitutes in the life skills room for the most part, his talents are still occasionally shared in the library. Their soccer, lacrosse, and cross country are some of the best in Maine. Both the boys and girls lacrosse teams won state championships in 2006. The baseball team made the playoffs in 2007 and in the first round lost to Marshwood 7-1. The softball team went undefeated and they won the SMAA Telegram Tournament as well as the state championship. The girls indoor and outdoor track teams were Southwestern and State champions in 2007, and indoor again in 2008. The boys cross country team won their fourth state championship in a row in fall of 2006. The boys swim team had three consecutive undefeated regular seasons (2004-2007.) The Girls Ice Hockey team had an undefeated season in 2007-2008, going 20-0. They won the final Maine Girls Ice Hockey Associaton Tier 2 state championship. The MGIHA will be absorbed into the MPA for the 2008-2009 season. Too bad no one really cares.

Scarborough High School's academic organizations are also some of Maine's best. The Student Congress Debate team has won the MPA Student Congress Championship three consecutive years. In 2007, it sent 3 of Maine's best congressional debaters to Wichita, Kansas for the National Forensics League National Tournament. Scarborough also boasts one of the nation's finest Academic Decathlon Teams. Scarborough's Academic Decathlon Team has won 19 of the past 24 state championships, each year sending a team to the national tournament. In 2007, the Decathlon team placed fourth in the small school division at the national competition in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Scarborough high school also has a vast music program. In 2007, the chorus went to Washington, DC to sing at the national cathedral. Scarborough High School has three bands, all of which received gold ratings at the Maine Band festival. In addition, Scarborough had the greatest number of students accepted into the District One Honors Concert Band in 2006 and 2007, including the most students making first chair. Scarborough High School underwent renovations beginning in 2003, and ending in 2006. School Website
